Today was reserved for travel. We left the hotel promptly at
8:30 for 7 hours of bus travel through the Italian alps. The
bus had minor troubles scaling the alps, but we all made it to Bari,
Italy safely. Upon our arrival, we ate and wandered the local
town, visited the tomb of St. Nicolas, and boarded the ferry around
5:00. The ferry is more spacious than we are accustomed to, and it
has a very, very, very tiny swimming pool located on an upper deck.
Many of the ringers had their first taste of Greek food for dinner.
For entertainment on the boat, ringers relaxed on the deck, played
charades, euchre, or spades, and Mr. Pinkerton taught some of us bridge. |
