Travel Notes
At 9:45 the bell team met at the church to get our bells
and we promptly left by 10:30. Airport check-in was easy,
and we were quickly on our way to Boston. Two hours later
we arrived in the beautiful Boston airport. One passport
mishap, one missing boarding pass, Ean's security check (again),
and a three hour layover later, we were off to Munich. The dash
began. With an 8:15 arrival and an 8:55 departure we
managed to get a workout. We successfully caught our
flight after a lecture from the Lufthansa personnel about our
late arrival at the gate. The 68 seat plane gave us
a nice view of the Alps and managed to get us (and all of our luggage!)
to Venice on time. Thankfully, our bus driver was there
waiting for us there.
Our first order of business was finding
foam for our pads and we were successful. We
arrived at the Collini factory at 12:15 (local time) and got our
pads before they closed for their two hour lunch at 12:30 (Thank
you Dennis!).
The trip to the youth hostel, however, was slow due to
construction (we were wondering if PENNDOT was here in Italy
also). Once in Ravenna, we had no clue where our hostel was
to be found so we stopped and asked someone on the street.
After checking in the local bar, one nice man hopped on his motorcycle and
led us to our hostel (thanks!).
Now we are pooped from a full 24 hour day of
travel, and we will continue this later.
